China Post Group releases 2025 AI special action plan

Recently, China Post Group Corporation Limited released China Post Special Action Plan for Artificial Intelligence (2025), outlining the overall requirements, principles, key tasks and safeguard measures for the work of large-scale AI models this year. The plan emphasizes that China Post should take advancing digital and intelligent transformation as the main thread, and focus on intelligent applications in the whole process, all domains and at all times, to push forward deep integration of large-scale AI model technology with different business sectors by means of coordinated planning, categorized implementation and targeted promotion, thereby achieving intelligent breakthroughs in key business links and scenarios such as parcel, express and logistics business, postal services, financial services, e-commerce, insurance and securities.

Currently, driven by the transformation and innovation development goals of universal postal service, parcel, express and logistics business, financial services and rural e-commerce, China Post has cumulatively developed five mainstream areas including computer vision, speech recognition, natural language processing, operations research and data analysis as well as three core capabilities of perception, cognition and decision-making, to promote the AI-empowered high-quality development of postal services. The Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC) has gradually upgraded “perception and insight” to “generation and interaction”, and released the “PSBC Intelligence” large model. And a total of 57 large-scale AI model scenarios have been launched across postal, banking, insurance, and securities business sectors.

The plan pinpoints such core principles as computing power sharing, model selection and training platform engineering, and advances six key tasks including building an intelligence capability map covering whole process, all domains and all times, enhancing fundamental computing power supply for large models, and developing and applying five intelligent assistants. Moreover, it also requires that China Post should strengthen organizational safeguards as well as mechanism, talent and technical support to ensure the tangible results of all tasks.
