On April 8, Chairman Liu Aili of China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post) met with CEO Mikhail Volkov of Russian Post and his entourage at China Post’s headquarters in Beijing. They conducted in-depth discussions on such issues as expanding cross-border parcel, express and logistics services and applying intelligent sorting equipment.

Liu Aili extended a warm welcome to Mikhail Volkov and his entourage, expressed his gratitude to Russian Post for its long-standing trust and support for China Post, and introduced the development of China Post in universal postal service, express and logistics services, finance, rural e-commerce and so on. He stated, the Posts of China and Russia have maintained close cooperation and achieved fruitful results in areas like cross-border parcel, express and logistics services and construction of new land corridor. Currently, as cross-border e-commerce is developing rapidly, express and logistics services are becoming an increasingly indispensable part of people’s livelihood and social production. Meanwhile, the global postal sector is accelerating its digital, intelligent and diversified transformation. All these bring the two Posts new opportunities to expand their cooperation. He hopes that both sides may further deepen cooperation in parcel, express and logistics services for cross-border e-commerce, application of intelligent sorting equipment and other fields, continuously improve service quality and efficiency, and support the high-quality economic and trade development of the two countries.

Mikhail Volkov expressed his appreciation for the remarkable achievements China Post has made in its reform and development, and extended his thanks for the support given by China Post. He then gave an overview of Russian Post in its universal postal service, modern finance, commercial services, e-commerce logistics layout and digital service development. He hopes that the two Posts may further optimize the land corridor, and cooperate on container rail transport and air freight, to reduce the overall transit time for cross-border products. He also hopes that both sides can jointly expand the parcel, express and logistics business market for cross-border e-commerce, so as to increase both volume and capacity and enhance business scale. In addition, he called for strengthening technical exchanges and equipment application cooperation to improve the efficiency of mail processing and delivery, so that the cooperation between the two Posts can better support the economic and trade development of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to establish a regular communication and exchange mechanism, reach a new cooperation scheme as soon as possible, and work together to build a more efficient, more convenient and stabler China-Russia cross-border delivery channel.

Vice President Wen Shaoqi of China Post Group, First Deputy General Director Maxim Tsypin of Russian Post, Deputy General Director Dmitry Chudinov of Russian Post and heads of relevant departments from both sides attended the meeting.
