“PSBC” remote sensing satellite successfully launched
|China Post News|2026-04-20

At 12:03 on April 14, the “PSBC” satellite, a remote sensing satellite jointly developed by the Postal Savings Bank of China (hereinafter referred to PSBC) and Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co Ltd, was successfully launched aboard the Lijian-1 Y12 carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China. The satellite has accurately entered its planned orbit, marking a complete success for the launch mission.

As a high-precision and high-resolution optical remote sensing satellite, the “PSBC” satellite boasts panchromatic high-definition imaging capabilities with a resolution better than 0.5 meters and remote sensing monitoring capabilities featuring rapid response, high-frequency imaging, all-weather operation and extensive coverage. It will consistently provide PSBC with objective and timely third-party spatial geographic information, effectively relieving the problem of information asymmetry faced by PSBC in its traditional financial services.

At present, the satellite data have been integrated into PSBC’s proactive risk prevention and control platform — the “Oasis”. Based on the traditional financial data, this platform has integrated new types of data from the remote-sensing satellite, Internet of Things and Geographic Information System to build an intelligent risk control system with collaboration of human, machine, data and AI, thus driving the transition of credit decision-making and risk management from passive response to proactive early warning and intelligent decision-making. According to the application plan, the satellite data will be primarily applied to core corporate credit scenarios, such as high-standard farmland, reserve forests, new energy, infrastructural development and overseas projects, to enable refined financial services and intelligent risk management through dynamically monitoring agricultural and forestry production and operations, project construction progress, operational status and physical conditions of assets.
